It’s common for a bride and groom to gasp at the price of photography for their wedding. Wow…those photographers are charging so much per hour! Well the truth is…and if you ask any wedding photographer they will agree…when they’re charging you six hours of coverage at your wedding plus an engagement photo shoot, there’s actually about 14 hours that goes into it!
For example, Gino Creglia (Sacramento Wedding Photographer) starts his process with a 1.5-2 hour engagement photo shoot—a crucial time for him and the couple to get comfortable with one another and get ready for the major day. Following this, the shoot must be proofed and the files must be prepared for the online gallery, making it easy for the bride, groom, and their families to view the images quickly and easily.
Then prep time comes into play. Gino must develop a photography itinerary for the wedding day and start scouting prime locations at the venue for the various bride/groom and family shots.
When the big day finally arrives, Gino is involved from the beginning to the end (assuming full photography coverage has been purchased), making sure to capture all the special moments…from the bride and groom getting ready in their separate quarters, all the way to the dancing into the wee hours.
Following the wedding day, Gino must archive all the wedding images onto a DVD, proof the images, and prepare the files for the online gallery. The high-resolution files must be adjusted to a manageable size and then burned to a DVD for the happy couple, who gets full rights of the images.
When all is said and done, many hours have been devoted to making sure the best photography services have been provided and the outcome is just as the bride imagined!
