The Digital World
Digital technology has not only affected the photographic arts but has also radically changed the communication arts. Gino’s extensive computer technology and digital commercial photography background has earned him recognition in his field. Commercial photographers regularly consult with him on the finer points of the process. Gino works exclusively with the most advanced digital equipment and color management systems. He uses Leica SL and Q camera systems. He compliments his cameras with Capture One software and utilizes Adobe® Creative Suites™, Adobe® Photoshop® and Lightroom™, Epson Pro Printers, and Mac OS X.
Gino handles every aspect of the digital workflow, from shooting images through color management to printing the finished photos. A computer is his “digital darkroom.” It processes the images downloaded from his digital camera using the Capture One software. His color-measuring device – the x-rite’s i1Studio – provides true-to-life color, light, and fantastic definition for every subject in a photo. Unlike a print from a 35mm film negative, every finished photo is an original. Gino’s thorough understanding of the digital process and computer tools sets him apart from others in the commercial photography field.
