The relationship between you and your wedding photographer must be built on trust. Just as your photographer has confidence in what he/she does, you must have confidence in them too! It will give you the much-needed peace of mind on your wedding day.
Gino Creglia has been meeting with brides and grooms for more than 10 years, and developing relationships with them prior to their “big day.” Why does he feel that engagement photos are so important?
“If I’ve worked with them through an engagement shoot, they know what to expect for their wedding…it provides that comfort level they need,” says Creglia.
As a seasoned photographer, Gino brings different skills to each engagement shoot that help “personalize” the photography. He demonstrates how to properly pose so that they will be satisfied with the outcome, and he spends time getting to know the couple and makes sure they are at ease for their shoot. His journalistic approach captures their true personalities, whether they’re cruising on a motorcycle, posing with their loving pets, or strolling down the beach.

Engagement shoots, or “E-Sessions,” are part of Gino’s recommended checklist for the bride and groom. Occasionally a bride and groom opt to not have the session and face the unknown. In these times, Gino has worked with them on their wedding day as best as possible, to capture special moments and quickly adjust to any surprises or requests. But what does he feel is lost with this method?

Just as the bride doesn’t try her dress on for the first time on the day, she should not work with her photographer for the first time either. She should be confident in the vendors she has chosen and comfortable interacting with them. At the end of a fabulous wedding, it is the photographs that the bride and groom take with them and treasure. They should be perfect, beautiful, and unique.
